"When I dare to be powerful - to use my strength in the

service of my vision, then it becomes less and less

 important whether I am afraid."

 ~ Audre Lorde

"If you bring forth what is within you, what you bring forth will save you.
If you withhold what is within you, what you withhold will destroy you."

“Creativity is allowing yourself to make mistakes.

Art is knowing which ones to keep.”

“True originality consists not in a new manner

  but in a new vision.”

"I think the wellspring of creativity is dysfunction - dismay, disorder, disarray, disruption. When life is not going the way we want it to, when our dreams or expectations have been jilted, then we reflect and regroup and allow fantasy to rearrange the harsh reality. But the irony of the creative state of mind is that this condition is not at all conducive to production, which involves order and schedule; editing and compromise. So there's got to be a driving desire, as well as a discipline (a nip-and-tuck, give-and-take) to take depression or dilemma and turn it into a work of art or a solution. I believe that any work of art or "creative" solution comes from discipline applied to dysfunction."

~ Gail Karwoski , author, children's historical fiction

"Fifth World, my fantasy e-book about global warming, has been a long time in the making.  A friend told me about the Native American creation myth of the Five Worlds of the Anasazi, and I noticed how similar they were to the Four Worlds of Jewish Kabbalah and the Seven Chakras of Kundalini yoga. My friend later took me to visit the ruins at Bandelier, and as I sat on the mountainside meditating, I had a vision of the old shaman warning me about global warming. After that, I went home and began writing the story. Some [friends] helped me with editing comments and artistic or technical advice; others simply provided good companionship that empowered me to keep working at it long after the original inspiration had cooled.  Now it is available on the web at: www.wolfclan.com " ~ Marya Wolfman, author

"I couldn't find the sports car of my dreams,

so I built it myself."
~ Dr. Ferdinand Porsche

"I criticize by creation - not by finding fault."
~ Cicero (106-43 B.C.)

"I have no special gift; I am only passionately curious."
~ Albert Einstein

"Creativity requires the courage to let go of certainties."

~Erich Fromm

"Anyone can make the simple complicated. Creativity is

 making the complicated simple."

~Charles Mingus

"We must recognize and nurture the creative parts of each

other without always understanding what will be created."

 ~Audre Lorde

"One of the illusions of life

is that the present hour is not the critical, decisive hour.

 Write it on your heart

that every day is the best day of the year."

 ~Ralph Waldo Emerson
